Margaret Rozga’s Alice poems in this collection are so wild and fresh. They surprise and delight me. I have been fortunate to know and work with Peggy on more than a few projects over the years. I highly recommend this book. It inspired me to write and publish my first review. There’s so much poetic goodness and history in this collection, including her time as a young activist marching for civil rights against massive resistance in the mid-sixties.
Margaret Rozga, 2019-2020 Wisconsin Poet Laureate, initiated the project that grew into the anthology, Through This Door, in workshops throughout Wisconsin and served as co-editor in bringing Through This Door: Wisconsin in Poems to publication. She is the author of five books of poetry. An emeritus professor of English at University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, she continues to teach a poetry workshop for Continuing Education at what is now the UW-Milwaukee Waukesha Campus.
