Red Cross Blood Drive

Meeting Rooms A and B Combined
Thursday, Aug 8, 2024, 12:00pm to 5:00pm

Donate blood and help maintain a stable blood supply. Every day the Red Cross must collect more than 13,000 pints of blood for patients across the country. Encourage family and friends to join you in donating on August 8th from 12:00 to 5:00 at Sequoya Library. A pint of blood from you could be a gift of life for someone in need. Download the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS to learn more and make an appointment.

The Red Cross encourages donors to answer screening questions on the day of their donation through Rapid Pass: redcrossblood.org/RapidPass

Blood drives take place at Sequoya Library on the second Thursday of each month.

Irene suggested that we spend  at least part of the meeting discussing Spanish proverbs.  I think it sounds like a fun idea.  So, please prepare for the conversation by finding some of your favorite Spanish proverbs (or, if necessary, English ones) to share with the group. (Irene kindly provided a link--click here--to a website that features proverbs in Spanish.)

Come join us! This summer members of the University League's Spanish Conversation Interest Group will host free monthly conversation for adults with intermediate to advanced level Spanish skills on the second and fourth Thursday each month (in the afternoon on the second Thursday and in the evening on the fourth Thursday).Los miembros del Grupo de Conversación en Español de University League ofrecen este programa de conversación gratis para adultos con nivel intermedio o avanzado, del segundo jueves del mes, en la biblioteca Sequoya.  Los principiantes que quieran escuchar el idioma, serán bien recibidos.

Naturalist-in-Residence: Nature Walk at Turville Point Conservation Park

Naturalist-in-Residence: Nature Walk at Turville Point Conservation Park

*Offsite
Thursday, Aug 8, 2024, 6:30pm to 7:30pm

This workshop is a chance to see our local parks in a different way. Nature walks can help us be present in our daily lives. By taking a moment to notice how environments need each individual organism to fulfill its purpose for the ecosystem to thrive, we can see how our actions impact the local ecosystem we interact with daily.

Meet to attend this event at 1202 Olin-Turville Ct, Madison, WI 53715

Space is limited for this event; registration is required. Registration will open two weeks before the event, on Thursday, July 25.

Part of the MPL Naturalist-in-Residence. For more information visit madpl.org/naturalist. The Naturalist-in-Residence is made possible in part by generous support of Nancy Leff and Kenneth Lerner, and in partnership with Madison Parks.
