Community English - Beginner

Beginner Students: Practice speaking, reading, and writing English with the Literacy Network.
Fall 2024 classes are September 21 - December 14, Saturdays, 10 am - 12 pm (no class November 30), in-person at the Literacy Network (701 Dane St, Madison, WI 53713). This class is free for students 18 years old and up living in Dane County. A class for intermediate students will be held at the Goodman South Public Library at the same time.

Cyanotype Workshop: Faces Beyond Reality

The "Faces Beyond Reality" workshop teaches participants how to use cyanotype printing to create faces of imaginary humans. You will brainstorm ideas, design, and print faces of people from a different, technology-inspired world. This fun, hands-on workshop is open to everyone, no experience needed.

Día de Los Muertos / Day of the Dead Celebration for Children

Join Library staff at the Overture Center as we help celebrate Día de los Muertos!
This family-friendly event, hosted by the Overture Center, will feature a performance by the Latino Arts Strings Program, the energetic rhythms of Cumbia Cachaca, and a variety of children's activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Dia de los Muertos through music, dance, and interactive educational experiences that celebrate Latino culture within our community.
This event will take place in the Overture Galleries at the Overture Center - 201 State St., in Madison.
