I Love Libraries is an initiative of the American Library Association and this month (starting yesterday) they're starting a new program called Libraries Transform Book Pick, a new digital reading program that will connect readers nationwide to the same ebook through us (your public libraries).
For their first pick, they've chosen Kassandra Montag's After the Flood and to participate all you have to do is login to OverDrive and download the ebook. There are an unlimited number of copies to lend from October 7-21, 2019 (and even if you borrow a copy on the 21st, you'll still get it for the full loan period). Montag's book is "a compulsively readable novel of dark despair and soaring hope, After the Flood is a magnificent, action-packed, and sometimes frightening odyssey laced with wonder—an affecting and wholly original saga both redemptive and astonishing."
You and your book group can discuss the book or if that isn't your cup of tea, share your thoughts on social media using the hashtag #LTBookPick. And as an added bonus for those of you in the Madison area, the author will be visiting during the Wisconsin Book Festival so you have a chance to read the book and then come hear her talk on October 19th at 3 pm at the Central Library.
