I just finished the Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman and I have to say that it was a pretty fun & clever book, with adventure to spare. There are WAR COVIDS! Bigger than a person! And goblins and giants, and magical tattoos and an assassin...on the craziest road trip ever. And it was funny, which is something I feel is missing in many fantasy settings.
There's a review on the back calling it "equal parts fairytale, D&D, and adventure" (or something like that).. and it really truly is. And, word on the street (aka, publisher's website) that there’ll be a sequel. Can't wait!
I'm so glad my amazing waitress, Christine, over at Nick's restaurant recommended the book to me. She's got great taste-- and the food's delicious too!
