En celebración del mes de la herencia hispana, la Biblioteca pública de Madison presentará una feria de libros en español el sábado, 16 de septiembre a las 9:30 AM hasta las 2PM en la Biblioteca Pinney [516 Cottage Grove Rd]. El evento está diseñado para destacar la colección en español de la biblioteca para adultos y niños
Explorar nuevos libros en español
El equipo de colección de la Biblioteca pública de Madison ha hecho dos viajes a la Feria internacional del libro en Guadalajara, México, para buscar libros escritos por y para hispanohablantes. La Feria internacional del libro es la feria del libro más grande de las Américas y la segunda más grande del mundo, con editores representando países hispanohablantes de todo el mundo.
La mini feria ofrecerá a todos la oportunidad de poner sus manos en estos increíbles materiales y familiarizarse con la colección de la biblioteca, incluidos los libros ilustrados y de cartón en español, así como libros para niños mayores, adolescentes y adultos en español. Además de explorar la colección en español, los participantes tendrán la oportunidad de registrarse para obtener una tarjeta de la biblioteca, obtener más información sobre los programas y recursos de la biblioteca para hispanohablantes y asistir a una hora de cuentos en español. Se ofrecerán meriendas y refrescos durante todo el evento. El Consulado de México también estará allí para una presentación especial y para donar una copia del Diccionario Mexicano del Español a la colección de la biblioteca.
Participar en arte reflexivo
Gente de todas edades también están invitados a participar en el proyecto de retratos Nuestra ciudad por todos lados, organizado por el Bubbler en el estudio de la biblioteca Pinney. Miembros de la comunidad crean su propios retratos usando estampas únicamente creados y cuando entregan su retrato para el proyecto, serán regalados el retrato de otra persona de la comunidad. Un artista hispanohablante local estará facilitando esta sesión del proyecto de Nuestra ciudad por todos lados.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Madison Public Library will host a Spanish-Language Book Fair on Saturday, September 16 from 9:30AM-2PM at Pinney Library [516 Cottage Grove Rd]. The event is designed to highlight the Library’s Spanish-language collection for adults and children.
Explore New Books in Spanish
Madison Public Library's collection team has made two trips to the Feria Internacional del Libro in Guadalajara, Mexico to source books written by and for Spanish-speakers. The Feria Internacional is the largest book fair in the Americas and the second-largest in the world, with publishers representing Spanish-speaking countries from around the world.
The mini feria will provide everyone the opportunity to put their hands on these incredible materials and get familiar with the library’s collection, including Spanish-language board and picture books, as well as books for older kids, teens and adults in Spanish. In addition to browsing the Spanish collection, attendees will have the chance to get signed up for a library card, learn more about programs and resources at the library for Spanish speakers, and attend a Spanish storytime. Snacks and light refreshments will be offered throughout the event. The Mexican Consulate will also be there for a special presentation and to donate a copy of the Mexican Dictionary of Spanish to the library’s collection.
Engage in Reflective Artwork
Attendees of all ages are also invited to participate in the Bubbler’s community-wide portrait-making project, Our Town Everywhere, in the Pinney Library Studio. Community members create their own self-portrait using uniquely crafted stamps and when they submit their portrait for the project, they’re given a print of someone else’s portrait from the community. A local, Spanish-speaking artist will facilitate this session of the Our Town Everywhere project.
