Come to read; come to listen; come to celebrate poetry with this group of fellow poets and poetry aficionados.

Tweens and teens are invited to cook with Chef Lily at Lakeview Library!  Participants will prepare and enjoy a wide variety of recipes, while learning about meal planning, following recipes, and using kitchen gadgets and tools.  

Food generously provided by Willy St. Co-op North.

Initially spurred by a lack of desire to mow or rake, Northside resident Alex Singer transformed his suburban yard over the past dozen plus years by replacing the turf grass with native forbs, grasses, trees, shrubs, ferns, and fungi -- he even recently added some vines! He continues to kill the grass and spread the news and the plant diversity via giving away his yard's bounty, inviting individuals and groups to tour his yard, and giving talks on native plant propagation and their importance, as well as working toward the loosening of Madison's Natural Landscape ordinance. 

Listen to his at-times humorous commentary while watching a slideshow of his triumphs and tribulations and get some insight into how you could follow suit. There will be time for Q&A and seeds available at the end to take home to start your own HNP.
