We’re here to mend anything you need for the colder months, including clothing, coats, and any other fabric-related repairs, except for zippers. Sewers from the Sewing Machine Project will be available to mend your things for free every Thursday of the month.

Interested in starting a mending project, or simply want to learn more? Join Bird Ross to learn more about what it takes to start a mending program. Participants are welcome to arrive early and see the Central Library’s Free Mending Program in progress.

This class is recommended for adults. No registration required.

About the artist: Bird Ross has been cultivating 2 + 3-dimensional and time-based work from textiles, paper, thread, ephemera, and her imagination over the years including costumes, lines of clothing, baskets, and puppets. Bird loves teaching folks of all ages about the joys of the mighty sewing machine and emphasizes its great qualities to solve many conundrums.
