Sequoya Library volunteer and veteran paperfolder Alice Page will lead this intergenerational workshop especially for young people ages 8 and up* attending with an adult companion. Alice has many fond memories of making Moravian (or Froebel/German) Stars with her own mother as winter approached, and hopes this will be an opportunity for your to connect and create with a loved one, too!

*Please note that this workshop requires patience, ability to follow multi-step-directions, and attention to detail--you know your young person best--not all youth under age 12 may be ready for this particular project.

All materials provided. Interested adults are also welcome to register and attend, with or without a companion. If attending with a companion, please register one person in your pair or trio. Registration opens at 9am on Saturday, 11/9. If program is full, please contact Sequoya Library to be added to the wait list.

It is requested that attendees refrain from the use of scented products while in the workshop space to accommodate others who may have chemical sensitivities. Thank you for your cooperation!

Meeting Rooms A and B Combined
Saturday, Nov 23, 2024, 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Join us for a free reading by regional contributing poets to the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets' (WFOP) Wisconsin Poets' Calendar 2025. The calendar theme is “Shine” and was edited by Jeanie Tomasko, Beth Ann Workmaster, and Linda Voit. The editors stated, “We asked poets to shine a light on something, maybe even a dark corner of memory or the present, to polish a story of experience, relationship, place–anything, really. Whatever made their hearts glint and their worlds bend around corners.”

The Wisconsin Poets’ Calendar 2025 presents interpretations of this theme by almost 200 poets, and our reading will feature the poets from the South Central Region of WFOP.

A limited number of calendars will be available for purchase and they can also be purchased on the 2025 Poets' Calendar store page on the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets website. Some contributing poets will also have personal works for sale, as well.

The Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets is a statewide organization dedicated to promoting awareness and appreciation of poets and poetic heritage in the state, mentoring and supporting local poets with regular readings, workshops, conferences and other events and advocating for the study of poetry in our schools.

It is requested that attendees refrain from the use of scented products while in the workshop space to accommodate others who may have chemical sensitivities. Thank you for your cooperation!
