Woodworking & Fantasy Coffins with Eric Adjetey Anang

Carpenter and coffin designer, Eric Adjetey Anang invites the public to learn a thing or two about woodworking, hand tools, and Ghana’s sacred tradition of building coffins.

Anang will host open studios throughout the month of April as part of his artist residency with the Bubbler at Madison Public Library.

Print & Resist Zinefest

Madison Print & Resist 2018 is a day-long festival of political print media, zines, experimental publications, and workshops related to the world of art, do-it-yourself culture, and political action.

Saturday, April 28 from 11:00am - 4:30pm Central Library (3rd Floor)

The event will feature work from subversively creative print and media artists, including zine makers, printers, poster-makers, and other self-published artists and writers ready to share their work with the Madison area community. All ages welcome to attend!

The Bubbler and the Media Lab are supported by grants from Madison Public Library Foundation and The Friends of the Madison Public Library.

Free Comic Book Day!

Celebrate the fun of reading comic books and graphic novels! National Free Comic Book Day is the first Saturday in May.

Children and adults alike can visit any of our nine Madison Public Libraries on Saturday, May 5 during open hours to receive a free kid-friendly comic book, while supplies last.

Central Library will have more fun planned for those looking added festivities!

Tablet Tips

Is your kid's favorite app really annoying? Terrible music that gets stuck in your head, overly sassy main characters or garish color choices may bother you so much that you avoid spending time with your child while they’re using the app. Instead, try to seek out apps that both of you love!

As with books, if you don’t like it, then you won’t be motivated to use it with your child. Tablet time should be fun for you, too!
