This is an absolutely charming book filled with 75 songs and poems from Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood and The Children's Corner. Sweetly illustrated by Luke Flowers on full-page spreads and as inclusive and timeless as ever, the collection explores universal topics such as feelings, acceptance, friendship, bravery, and growing up.
My favorite is "You Can Never Go Down the Drain" illustrated with a child in scuba gear. This is something that's so true - you're bigger than the water, the soap and all the bubbles. This fear was real at my house for many years and the answer is right there. You can never go down the drain!
Most of the lyrics are written by Fred Rogers with some written by Josie Carey, original host of and Fred Roger's partner on Pittsburgh's children's show The Children's Corner. The audiobook is narrated by John Lithgow and Kate Mulgrew. Both editions are available in LINKcat and Wisconsin's Digital Library.
