TeJah

TeJah is the Wanda Fullmore Intern at Meadowridge Library. She is a sophomore this year at Verona Area High School. She describes her internship as interesting because of the work librarians do. To her, librarians make the work they do look easy when in her experience it is “actually hard to do”. TeJah’s favorite part about working at the library is being around people. Her duties include checking in books/movies, shelving books/movies, and helping out with kids programs. She really enjoys working at Meadowridge because she says “the atmosphere is great and the staff are great and really nice”.

This summer, she learned that it takes her a while to get used to focusing on one task for a long period of time without distractions, she also learned how to work in a professional environment and how to “filter herself” to not offend patrons at the library. Some skills she has learned is organization, how to work with kids and in her words “how to be a great librarian”. TeJah hopes to use the skills she learned working at the library later in her life and she also hopes to get a page position with the library when she turns 16.

In the future, she wants to be a criminal defense lawyer. Her goal is to study journalism and criminal justice at a college in the UK. Her ultimate goal is to own a law firm that specializes in assisting african american men who have been wrongfully incarcerated. TeJah’s aspirations to become a criminal defense lawyer comes from her personal experiences and her desire to defend those who can’t afford or don’t have access to a lawyer who can defend them properly.
