Aquavia is one of the Wanda Fullmore interns at Central Library. She is a senior this year at James Madison Memorial High School. She describes her internship as a great experience because it is fun, challenging and she is always learning new things and meeting new people. Her favorite part of her internship is going to different meetings and being involved in the planning process to improve the teen areas at all library locations.
Aquavia works in the administration department for the library and spends her days working with the Community Engagement Coordinator. She attends a lot of meetings, brainstorms ideas to engage teens in the library and has visited all 9 libraries to observe their teen area and provide feedback. During her internship, Aquavia has learned that she is an outgoing person and that she can accomplish anything, even if it seems impossible at first. She has also learned organization skills, communication skills and how to work independently.
In the future, Aquavia wants to attend a Historically Black College to study criminal justice and become a lawyer. She discovered an interest in criminal justice after completing a forensic science course and watching many episodes of Law and Order.
