If you've ever dreamed of creating collage art with elements from classic artworks in a museum, then this is the app for you! Create new original works using backgrounds, faces, torsos, facial features, objects and accessories taken from famous pieces of art throughout history and combining them in new and perhaps surprising ways. If you want to see the element you've chosen to use in its original setting, simply press and hold on the piece and a pop-up will show you the original art, the name of the piece, the name of the artist, what year it was created, what size it was and most of the time also where the piece is currently located. Each element that you choose can be re-sized, rotated, recolored or flipped. You can also control which layers are on top and which are beneath simply by tapping on the piece you want to bring forward. The controls are simple and fairly intuitive. Once you're satisfied with the image you've created, you can save it as an image to your device and share it with friends and family or create a "postcard" image to send directly from the app via e-mail (there's a "baby gate" that prevents young children from being able to access e-mail, facebook or twitter from the app without a parent's permission). Just for fun you can also shake the iPad and the elements you've placed on the screen will swap out for other elements from the same category (eyes for eyes, etc.). A creative and entertaining way to engage with art history! (note: one of the hands is holding a cigarette)
