Travel the Australian outback with a cute little wombat, searching for food and a safe place to sleep. This is a story told in 5 chapters of beautiful watercolor paintings. The path blossoms before you as you move the wombat forward, discovering new places to explore, new animals to meet and some bugs and plants to collect along the way. The story includes fire as part of the natural rhythm of the outback, so if you've been wanting a way to talk about the Australian fires with your kids, this is a gentle entry into that conversation (don't worry, the wombat is safe at the end of the story!). The atmosphere of this app is superb -- the creators captured sound recordings from the actual outback, so you hear the buzz and click of insects, birdsong, rushing water as though you're actually there with the wombat. Headphones do enhance the experience. Although the story is relatively short, the option to spend time collecting all of the beetles and moths and plants and unique animals can extend the repeat play time for this app. It's very calming and meditative as well.
