Art of the Picture Book Database

The Art of the Picture Book curriculum was designed by Madison Public Library librarians to pair high-quality picture books with hands-on projects inspired by their illustrations. Projects have been sourced from our own practice, collaborations with community artists, as well as from Pinterest boards and other library blogs. The Art of the Picture Book curriculum was initially inspired by Megan Dowd Lambert's Reading Picture Books with Children: How to shake up storytime and get kids talking about what they see and created in collaboration with MPL's Bubbler program.
