October is Dyslexia Awareness Month, and you can join local experts at Sequoya Library on October 22 from 5-7:30pm to explore the brain science of reading and ADHD (and touch actual brains thanks to UW-Madison Neuroscience students)!
Presenters will include: Kelly Pickens (Undivided Attention), Kelly Kuenzie (Children's Dyslexia Center--Madison), and the UW-Madison Neuroscience Training Program Outreach Committee.
Please contact librarian Abigail Ryan (ryana@madisonpubliclibrary.org) with any accessibility or dietary requirements 1 week before this program. This event is especially for parents, caregivers, educators, elementary school and older youth, and community members. Registration is requested; register below.
If you'd like to start learning about the reading brain now, check out the Learning to Read with Dyslexia - Books and Resources for Families, Educators and Elementary Students booklist online.
This event is being hosted in partnership with the Children's Dyslexia Center--Madison and is made possible thanks to funding from the Friends of Sequoya Library.
