There are several opportunities coming up in November to pick up Root Growth Flip Book Kit [DOWNLOAD] designed by returning Bubbler Artist Angela Johnson in collaboration with the Masson Lab located within the Genetics Department of UW-Madison. The Masson lab collaborated with Angela to develop a science/art outreach program to teach the lab’s findings on root development. Through observation and bookmaking, all ages are encouraged to consider how roots navigate to find their path, how leaves reach the sunlight, and how plants play a part in the ecosystem. The flip book illustrates seeds germinating to form roots, shoots and grow into plants. Through this collaboration, 500 art kits with supplies and directions are being distributed by community partners throughout the state of Wisconsin, and our library location are part of the fun. Join us for three upcoming events where you'll be able to pick up a kit and make your own flip book during informal art time.
