Guadalupe is the Wanda Fullmore intern at Pinney Library. She is a Junior this year at La Follette High School. She describes her internship as being repetitive at times but she doesn’t mind the relaxed environment and the friendly staff. Her favorite part about working at the library is helping with Wild Rumpus on Monday nights at Reindahl Park. In addition to working Wild Rumpus, she also shelves books, helps with storytimes and other kids programs, does picklists and summer reading card data entry. She also created a color in Mandala for the teen area using her artistic abilities. During her internship, she has learned she doesn’t have a lot of patience and that she is a fast worker. Some skills she learned are organization skills from shelving books, time management and data entry skills. In the future, Guadalupe wants to attend medical school at UW Madison with the possibility of participating in the transfer program from Madison College. She is interested in the medical field because she likes to help others. This year she is enrolled in a health science occupations course to help her determine what area she wants to focus on.
