Madison Public Library is excited to host our Period Party - an informational health event at Goodman South Madison Public Library - for the second year in a row! Kids, teens and families are invited to come learn more about menstruation, participate in art activities, and indulge in some “period craving” snacks.
Public Health will kick the event off with a presentation designed to help break down some of the myths about menstruation. You'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions during this conversational yet informative presentation, and library staff will have an accompanying book display at the event to encourage continued learning after the event is over. The Foundation for Black Women's Wellness will also be present and will share their mission and the resources that they have available.
The Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District will provide a photo booth and local artist and doula, Ashley Hartman Annis, will teach folks how to make their own wellness zines. You'll also be able to assemble your own “go bag” with tampons, pads, liners and more. All materials and products will be provided for free thanks to Public Health of Madison & Dane County.
Youth of all ages and their families are invited to attend. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 22 from 1-3:30PM!
Registration is required for this event, and space is limited.
