The Pinney Library Saturday Music Series welcomes new musicians into the library on the first Saturday of each month from 11am - 12pm to perform! No registration is required - all are welcome.

Mideast Salsa is a Latin Dance Band that performs original arrangements of Mediterranean, North and South American Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia and Merengue. Music flows from Spanish, French, and Hebrew, to Arabic and English as dancers demonstrate various dance styles.

Tzêra is a singer-songwriter, self-taught guitarist native to Puerto Rico. Her upbringing in the Caribbean exposed her to an eclectic fusion of rhythmic genres, such as Ska, Funk, Salsa, Latin Jazz, Reggaetón, and R&B. Drawing inspiration from her cultural background as well as her experiences, Tzêra's passion for music materializes in a peculiar repertoire of songs that she has been performing throughout Madison, Wisconsin for the past two years. Accompanying her soulful voice with her mellow guitar playing, these honest performances include an array of autobiographical unreleased tracks such as “El Taxi”, “Addicted to you”, and “Aretes color Sol,” as well as captivating renditions of songs from artists with diverse backgrounds, like, Cultura Profética, Amy Winehouse, Nathy Peluso, and much more.

The DB Orchestra is lively, loud, local, and one of the hottest bands in Madison! Led by Andy Kerber, this group combines the nuanced harmonies of a Doo-Wop group, the intensity of a marching band, and the flair of great jazz ensembles of yesteryear. The DBO sets the stage for an infectiously fun and uniquely electric live performance. Expect to hear everything from timeless swinging hits from the 1930s and ’40s, rock ‘n’ roll classics, show tune medleys, and even some tracks on the radio today. The hot horns, smooth saxes, and driving drums of the DB Orchestra will keep your head humming and toes tapping long after the show’s over!
November 2, 11am - 12pm | Pinney Library
The Stop and Listen plays old-time string band music with a unique set of instruments and voices, specializing in fiddle tunes, jug band numbers, and country blues. They bring serious drive and groove with harmonicas (sometimes a couple at once!), extraordinary improvisation on cello and fiddle, banjos of uncompromising size, and a bass with a chip on its shoulder. Songs are sung with an old-time swagger—harmonies included.
